Dr. Joel Farthing first became interested in veterinary medicine while in high school. He began working on a south central Missouri beef cattle farm and at the practice of Dr. J.J. Tune, where he learned large and small animal medicine in a rural setting. After graduating from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003, he started working at a mixed animal practice in Lincoln and St. Charles counties. After six years in practice he partnered with his classmate at Mizzou, Dr. Lindsay, to found O’Fallon Veterinary Medical Center and continue the practice of Dr. James Oliver.
“I’m happy to be practicing at OVMC. It’s a wonderful opportunity and fulfillment of a dream to be able to practice veterinary medicine exactly the way I believe it should be—with careful attention to patient care and communication with pet owners, all while creating a positive work environment for myself and the O'Fallon Veterinary Medical Center staff.”
Dr. Farthing is married to his lovely wife, Skye, and enjoys spending his free time working on home improvement projects and his golf game, throwing discs for Reecee the Australian Cattle Dog to catch, and by participating in various sporting events. In November of 2010 they welcomed their new daughter Arden along for the ride and have been enjoying parenthood ever since.
